    Mash Paddle 2009

Noice one!! BPA has been a contender for the paddle a few times, good to see it get the guernsey at last. It seems a relatively simple style, but is hard to nail and still allows for a rich seam of creativity. It shouldn't be to hard to find a judging panel ;) If you are short of a...

    Anawbs 2008 Presentation

Congratulations to all, especially the big bling winners. Congratulations also to Russell and the rest of the team for pulling off an even bigger and better ANAWBS. I look forward to hearing the results of the West Australian jury. It's a bugger they couldn't be judged in the main...

    Anawbs 2008

Best of luck to everyone entering ANAWBS this year. For a variety of reasons (linked to health and work concerns) I have had to withdraw my involvement this year and for the foreseeable future. The comp is in great hands though, and I am sure it shall continue to grow from strength to...

The Golden Can Opener, Competition Discussion

Sadly, it is now too late in the day to organise a new class for this year's ANAWBS. However, we do ask entrants to identify the manner in which they have brewed their beer - at least to the extent of full mash, partial, modified kits and unmodified kits. A special prize - with its own...

If accepted I can post details here in about a month's time from now. Full details will be included in our major mail out in June/July. For...

    Mash Paddle 2008

How did I miss this question? No limit to the number of beers you enter into a class, as long as each is a different brew :) May a thousand maibocks bloom. However we do frown on people entering the same beer into more than one class. So, if your maibock is an all grain uber helles enter it...

    Mash Paddle 2008

Given the lagering time involved in brewing this gentle monster of a beer, I thought I better remind people that the closing date for entries is likely to be 29 September 2008. We are still finalizing the details of entry drop offs etc, but rest assured you will be kept informed on AHB. Hoppy...

    Mash Paddle 2008

Maybe Barry won't read this thread <_< Barry is human also, and hence fallable. Don't let spectres frighten you away TL, or anyone else for that matter ;) FWIW Entry guidelines are reviewed on an annual basis, and this year won't be any different in that regard, but I am not going to...

    Mash Paddle 2008

The famed and fabulous Bruces who determine the style for the Mash Paddle have convened. Mystical smoke is eminating from behind the dunny at the back of the senior Bruce's yard. A mash paddle style for 2008 has been annointed!! This year there was a first eleven of anonymous Bruces, who...

    2007 Sa Christmas Case

Beer was bottled on 4 December, so just had a week at this point. it MAY have been bottled a little cold, which would increase the carbonation a bit, but it was carbed at pretty low levels. This is only my second brew in about 15 months, so my trainer wheels are well and truly attached.
