    KegLand Questions and Answers

Question with kegging (the 8L oxebar and mini 360 regulator with sodastream bottle). Is there any need for a 1 way check valve on the gas line? I was sure I saw it recommended somewhere but now that I look again to make sure I get the order right, I don't see that advice anywhere.

Equipment For Sale Canberra - corny kegs $50 plus some free bits and bobs

Sorry mate, someone grabbed that last night. I've marked that off in the first post.

Equipment For Sale Canberra - corny kegs $50 plus some free bits and bobs

I need to downsize, have a bunch of stuff that came from another person but I've never had the space to use it properly. I just want to convert some of it to money so I can buy some smaller kit (an oxebar keg setup, and a few other bits and pieces to do small batch brewing). Location is North...

    KegLand Questions and Answers

A question re: the 4L oxebar kegs that are on their way... I'd assumed they're just going to be same diameter but half the height of the 8L kegs. But you know what they say about "ass-u-me"ing things. Is that what they'll be or is the plan for different dimensions?

    Bitter orange peel vs powder

Ah, so if I put the peel in longer I should reduce the hop bittering. That makes a lot of sense and I'm glad you brought that up!

    Bitter orange peel vs powder

The recipe is based on te Lar-gaarden recipe which was already available on the brewfather database. It's from Larry the beer n bbq videos on YT. I've had to change the hops around a bit. Just a 10L batch so I hope to get something drinkable that I can experiment with and improve over future...

    Bitter orange peel vs powder

I'm going to try a Belgian witbier recipe, which calls for bitter orange peel. The lhbs had this in powdered form, while the YouTube video had small dry slivers. In terms of quantity, is it possible I should put less in, due to the powder form being more ready to impart flavours?

    Worst Comerical Beer You Had

Mid 2000s I was at a small pub in Sydney with a group I was at tafe with, and it was one of those bars where you go, "Tooheys spew, nope, Carlton Draught, nope, oh phew they have Tooheys Old". One of the guys in the group asks for a VB. Gets told they don't have it. He looks confused and...

    Worst Comerical Beer You Had

Reeb, which is beer spelled backwards, was one of the few full strength beers available in the local Tesco nearest to where I was living in Shanghai in 2009. As far as beers go, it actually is a bit backwards, but we drank it for a while, before deciding that just drinking twice as much Sun...

    PET Kegs and more

+1 on the market research statement. Just keep in mind that people with less space haven't bought any kegs yet. I may be one of a kind, or I may be one of an untapped market? Regardless, good luck, I hope the product is a success and it's great seeing locally made products whether they're for...

    PET Kegs and more

PET mini kegs. The ss ones are all poorly designed - too tall once the disconnect lid thing is attached. There is a definite market for kegs that fit in shared fridge spaces. Could a PET mini keg be designed to lay on its side? A floating gas tube and a sinking liquid out tube? 200mm diameter...

Why use 9.5L vs 19L Kegs?

I'm considering getting rid of the 19L cornies, plus the freezer, font taps etc, because I have no where in the house to keep it, and 19L is a LOT. I have a second fridge in the house, and can fit a few half cornies in it by removing 2 shelves. The smaller size therefore suits the space I...

Newbie looking to learn the Belgian ropes

A friend with the equivalent size guten (similar to robobrew) recently gave me a bottle of an imperial stout of some sort that he'd brewed. I think he said it was 11% abv. Said it was a bit tricky on that unit but there are techniques for getting the higher efficiencies needed given the volume...

    hi all

So in my trial run (all water) biab in the oversized kettle didn't work. I couldn't keep a temp with just the small (relative to the kettle size) amount in the bottom. Frustrated, back to the drawing board. I picked this 37L crab cooker up for $90, and installed the heating element, tap and...
