Try The Country Brewers Old Porter Wetpak 3kg with 25g of Fuggles dry hopped. This kit has dark and crystal grains that have to be steeped, yeast and hops. Rack into secondary after a week and it is a great beer for a kit.

I'm with Mark and Deaves I just tape the probe to the side of the fermenter with a piece of packing tape and it holds temp to within a degree using an Aldoheat temperture controller.

Only ever tried the TCB Old Porter Wet pack and it was definately a winner. Only problem was that it didn't last long enough.

Only ever used rain/tank water for brewing. Although i don't filter it i do sometimes boil it if i'm feeling energetic.

Use some beerline cleaner. That should clean it off without too much elbow grease.

It is a Truflo probably made by Downey. It has a standard snaplock shank that will fit all female snaplocks.

They are HERE I have been after a couple of 3 gallon kegs for small batches and parties. My local HBS has the Morgans one for $200 which i believe are made in China. Good old Aussie ones should be better made.
