    Is this an infection?

I've had similar 'scum' on my beers many times. Asked myself all the same questions, completely revised my cleaning and sanitizing process, and it still pops up from time to time. For me, it was purely an aesthetic thing: the beer still tasted good, and once poured into a glass, noone could...

    Tapatalk still available?

I'm sorry, but I don't know what that means. I have downloaded Tapatalk on my phone. I press the 'forums' button, but can't find AHB or Aussie Home Brewer or aussiehomebrewer when I search....

    Tapatalk still available?

Hi, I've run a search and can see that Austin got Tapatalk hooked up for this forum around November last year. Unfortunately, when I'm on my phone (Samsung Galaxy Express) I can't seem to find it in a search, so I can't add it. Is it still available? Thanks, Ben

    375ml Glass Bottles

I use a mix of green crown seal bottles and twisties. To be honest, I have found any problems with either. The only thing I've noticed is that after a while (I'm talking 3-4 years!) the grooves in the neck of the twisties gets a bit worn and that's when I chuck them before they can present a...

    Too long fermentation ?

Most of mine are left for three weeks. The longest I've left one is six weeks. There was no bad effects that I could detect, but I wouldn't leave it that long again! :) Re 'bottle bombs', I store mine in plastic boxes with clip on lids from Bunnings. They're 50 - 60L in size, and about $10 each...

    What Happened To Brigalow?

I finally found them out at Nerang Home Brew store. He told me that the doesn't stock many though coz not many people are interested these days. :(

    What Happened To Brigalow?

I think Coles and Woollies might be getting out of home brew stuff. The Coles at Labrador (my local) now stocks nothing for brewing at all. I really used to like their home brand lager too, which I know is going to raise some eye brows, but I swear it was good stuff! Ben

    What Happened To Brigalow?

Hi, Thanks for the advice. The Brigalow kits of Apple Cider and the Ginger Beer are the ones that we like the best, especially the wife. I made a Black Rock AC last time, and she wouldn't go anywhere near it. I also had a crack at an Apple Cider with Vanilla and Cinnamon recipe I found on here...

    What Happened To Brigalow?

Thanks mate... but I think Tassie might be little bit far. I'm on the Gold Coast... Still, it is good cider!

    What Happened To Brigalow?

Hi all, This might have already been talked to death on here, but I couldn't see anything about it when I did a quick search... I've been brewing Brigalow Apple Cider and Ginger Beer packs for about 12 years now, and love them every time, but I've got around to brewing one again, and can't...

    Rekorderlig Wild Berries Cider

Hi Tanga, That's good advice. Thanks for that. If priming with cordial, what would you recommend in regards to ratios? Cheers, Ben

    Rekorderlig Wild Berries Cider

Howdy all, My wife has tried Rekorderlig Wild Berries Cider from Dan Murphy's and has placed an order with me. I'm thinking that to replicate it I could try a Brigalow Apple Cider Kit (that's the one she's liked the most so far) and add a 1.5 kilo of frozen mixed berries from Aldi, pureed in...

    Brewferm Framboos Question

Hi all, Wanted to put a question or two to you. Firstly, I'm a little worried about a brew I have in the fermenter. Its a Brewferm Framboos which expired in Jan '08. I put two cans of it together, added 1 kilo a HBS brand 'Body Brew', and used the yeast that came with the kit. My SG was...

    Turbo Washer Issues

Hi, Went to Reece yesterday who told me that there was nothing wrong with the connections I bought and the problem was a pressure thing and for $120+++ they could set me up with a pressure regulator blah blah blah. So I went back to Bunnings and bought the most expensive set of connections I...

    Possible Bottling Issue

A quick update... We've tried a few pale ale bottles and they taste fine. There is still some white crap on the top of the beer in the bottle, but not as much as before. Haven't looked at the Ginger Beer yet though. Will probably have a look at some of these this weekend. I've bought myself a...

    Turbo Washer Issues

Hi, Went back to Bunnings today to check the name of the brand that I'd bought. It was Hanlon. They also had Pope, and something else. I asked which was the best brand, and they told me that what I'd bought was the best brand. I went to the tool shop to ask what to do about the pressure...

    Turbo Washer Issues

Thanks mate. You are correct. Is the snap lock adapters which are coming apart, not the adapter from the Turbo washer, nor the hose out of the snap lock end. I'm assuming that Mitre Ten would fall into the same category as Bunnings? Cheer.
